A Culture of Gratitude
There are many ways to say “Thank you!” We are taught at an early age to say thank you to others who have been kind to us, who have given us an opportunity or gift, or simply thank someone for always being there!
Many Sussex County residents, summer visitors, patients, staff members, and local business’ are grateful for the quality healthcare they have received through Beebe and want to extend a sign of gratitude by making a financial gift.
Patients like to make a gift in tribute to doctors and nurses, summer visitors like to say thank you for Emergency Department being there, graduating nurses from our School of Nursing like to say thank you for a quality education, businesses like to support Beebe because their employees depend on Beebe’s services, and Sussex County residents like to say thank you for always being there for almost 100 years! Research has shown that showing gratitude and saying thank you for changing or saving one’s life helps complete the healing process; it allows us to be in control again and creates a sense of joy and happiness once again.

As a community-owned, not for profit hospital system, Beebe continues to depend on the generous support of individuals, corporations, business, and private foundations. All gifts, large or small, to Beebe Healthcare are tax deductible and are channeled through Beebe Medical Foundation.
Beebe Medical Foundation was established on September 14th, 1989 with the sole mission of raising philanthropic support for Beebe Healthcare and creating a culture of gratitude. The Foundation is located at 902 Savannah Road, in the former historic home of Dr. Richard Beebe who, with his brother Dr. James Beebe, founded the hospital in 1916. Beebe has grown from a 4 bedroom hospital to a 213 bed Medical Center with 7 locations County wide! This would not be possible without the financial gifts of so many who say “thank you to Beebe!”
Giving to the Beebe Medical Foundation
Thank you for choosing to support Beebe! Every year over 2200 donors support Beebe Healthcare. As a not-for-profit community hospital, your gifts make a tremendous difference. Your gifts truly save and change lives daily.
Your gift can be designated to particular Department/area of interest or to the greatest need. Your gift can be made in honor of a doctor, nurse or other caregiver. Or your gift can be made in honor or memory of a loved one. The following pages of the Foundation website will help you make an informed decision on where you would like your gift to support. Your giving directly supports the excellent medical care given by our compassionate, caring and dedicated staff.
In honor of the founding date of Beebe, we have created a 1916 club to recognize the generosity of donors who give $1,916 or more each year. All gifts count! Annual gifts go directly to support Beebe. Endowment gifts provide income in perpetuity. Capital/major gifts help us purchase much needed equipment. Planned gifts are a great way to let your legacy live on as well as have your support last forever. Please take the time to view the pages of our website to see where and how you would like to support Beebe. Never hesitate to call us if you have any questions, 302-644-2900.
